Seeing Stars Sew Along-Week One

Welcome to Week One of the Seeing Stars Sew Along! I'm so happy you decided to join such a wonderful group of creative people. I'm excited to see all of your quilts come to life.

If you haven't done so already, sign up for the weekly emails during the sew along.

Sew Along Details

Starts: September 2 (today)

Duration: 10 weeks (we are taking this one nice and slow so it's easier to follow along)

Materials Needed

Seeing Stars Pattern

16-20 assorted fat quarters

5 yards background fabric

5/8 yard binding fabric

5 yards backing fabric

How to Participate

The majority of the sew along will occur on Instagram using the hashtag #seeingstarssal Be sure to use the hashtag when posting about the sew along so we can see your progress and watch your quilt come to life.

If you don't have an IG account you can still sew along and be part of the fun through the weekly emails and blog posts.

Stay In The Loop

If signed up, you will receive a weekly email each Monday of the SAL. A new blog post will also go up on Mondays. The emails will include instructions for that week, announce giveaway winners and will sometimes have a video tutorial or tips and tricks that the blog post may not have.

Week One:

Show off your fabric on Instagram and feel free to introduce yourself! We'd love to see who you are. Remember to use the hashtag #seeingstarssal. I will be checking the hashtag regularly and plan to share some of your posts.
Choose your fabrics and purchase the Seeing Stars Pattern if you haven't done so already.

If you'd like to do some color planning, HERE is a printable coloring sheet.

I'm using a fat quarter bundle of Rhapsody fabric from my shop and a solid white as my background fabric.

After you get all of your fabrics cut, the fun part begins. Mixing and matching your pieces. I put mine into 16 piles, one pile for each of the quilt blocks we will make.

Once you have this done, you are all set and ready for Week Two!

Week One Giveaway

Post a picture of the fabrics you plan to use.

Be sure you are including the #seeingstarssal hashtag in your Instagram post to be eligible.

The winner will receive a Seeing Stars Tee in the color and size of their choice.
