Scrappy Plus Block Tutorial
I love these simple scrappy plus blocks but I have to warn you: they are so quick and easy to make it's a bit addicting.
To add interest I used several different low volume fabrics for the background but kept the plus part of the block the same fabric to ensure it POPS off of the scrappy background.
NOTE: Press all seams open to reduce bulk when sewing all of your blocks together.
Start with the following pieces:
Sew the 2.5" blocks (top and bottom center units) together and the 2.5" center blocks to the middle 6.5" x 2.5" strip as seen below:
Press your seams open
Sew the 4.5" blocks to the center units in the top and bottom rows as seen below:
Again, press your seams open
Sew the top and bottom rows to the center row to complete your block as seen below:
Your finished block should measure 10.5" square.
I hope you enjoyed this simple block tutorial, be sure to tag me on social media so I can see your finished quilts.
